Silver Crown Body Trimming Tips

SOME TIPS ON TRIMMING OUR SILVER CROWN BODY
When using Factory Works Oval Shock Towers

We have made the shock tower and suspension trim line stick-on pieces, because this body is designed as a universal fit body for many truck kits. Thus trim lines on the body would become every confusing and take away for the body's appearance.

1) First with a pair of good scissors cut out the correct trim line pieces for your truck on the trim lines.
NOTE: that if you have a truck other then a RC10 GT or a Losi XXXNT or you have a GT or XXXNT with out our Oval Shock Towers - we are sorry for the lack of trim lines - you are going to have to figure out the cut lines on your own.
JUST GO SLOW AND MAKE SMALL OPENINGS, SLOWLY FITTING AND INCRESSING THERE SIZE TILL THE BODY FITS.

2)The front trim pieces line up 'FRONT TO BACK' with the body panel line that depicts the separation between the nose piece and the side of the hood.

NOTE THAT: That the bottoms for all four pieces align with the bottom trim lines in the body.

3)The left rear piece has a fold line marked on it, that after being folded aligns with the back of the air scoop bump.

4)The right rear side has a dashed line on it that aligns with the panel line between drives bump and rear panel.

5)We then cut out the body with the stick-ons in place.

Silver Crown Painting Tips

For the forward down tubes we found this to be the easiest way to mask them off. Start by cutting a piece of masking tape about eight inches long, the blue low tack tape works the best. Pinch the ends and stretch the tape out and slide it up into the opening, align the top of the tape with the bottom of the tube line and put it down. Then, push on that piece to work out any air pockets. Define the cut edge and trim with an exacto knife. Repeat this process for all four surfaces to be masked for the front down tubes.
We tried pre-cut maskings on these four areas, but they were next to impossible to get in; there was nothing to hold on to while trying to move them up and in. This area is also the hardest to get paint into when air brushing, it takes about four to five coats to get enough into these tubes. Pulling the sides out some when painting helps, if you have two extra hands. The rest of the masking is pretty straight forward with the pre-cut pieces.
